So Twitter generates a ZIP file with all your tweets (including tweets that you have retweeted from other users) and sends it to the email address you have linked to. This may take a few minutes, maybe longer.

When you receive the email and download the attached file, you will see a file called index.html. If you click, you will open an offline web page with a list of all your tweets ordered by month. How To Permanently Delete Your Twitter Account

Twitter does not allow you to officially delete your account, but you can deactivate it.
